Privacy Policy

Last updated: January 1, 2025

The short version: FastShare is a peer-to-peer tool. Your files travel directly between browsers and never touch our servers. We don't collect, store, or sell your personal data.

1. Who We Are

FastShare is a Chrome browser extension developed and maintained by Infatoz Technologies LLP, a technology company based in India. This Privacy Policy describes how the FastShare extension and website handle information.

2. Data We Do Not Collect

We want to be absolutely clear about what we do not do:

3. How File Transfers Work

FastShare uses WebRTC (Web Real-Time Communication) technology to establish direct connections between your browser and the browser of your recipient. When you send a file:

  1. A temporary signaling exchange occurs via our server to help the two peers discover each other (IP negotiation via STUN/ICE).
  2. Once connected, all file data flows directly between the two browsers — our server never sees the file content.
  3. The signaling server discards all session information once the connection is closed.

Files received via the extension are stored locally in your browser's Origin Private File System (OPFS) — a sandboxed local storage area accessible only to the extension. Files are never uploaded to any external server.

4. Signaling Server Data

Our signaling server temporarily processes the following non-personal technical data to facilitate WebRTC connections:

This data is held in memory only and is never written to disk or a database. It is automatically discarded when your session ends or the server restarts.

5. Local Storage

The extension uses chrome.storage.local to store:

None of this data leaves your device.

6. Website Analytics

Our public website (infatoz.com and related domains) may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate traffic. If used, these tools collect only anonymous, aggregated data such as page views and referral sources — never personal identifiers.

7. Children's Privacy

FastShare is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has used our service in a way that may have shared personal information, please contact us and we will address it promptly.

8. Security

All WebRTC data channels are encrypted using DTLS (Datagram Transport Layer Security). Our signaling server uses WSS (WebSocket Secure / TLS). We take reasonable technical measures to protect the integrity of our infrastructure, though no internet transmission is 100% secure.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of FastShare after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
